I came across this article from the Lifehack.org blog (which I highly recommend for great tips and tricks). It’s nothing to do with clothing or design but it really spoke to me.

The skills he mentions are real life basics, but ones which it takes people (me) ages to learn. I would have been a heck of a lot more productive and grown up a lot quicker if I’d picked up these skills earlier. I probably wouldn’t have gone to university, either. I haven’t mastered them all yet, but some (maybe all) have only come from the jobs I’ve chosen – like a job giving presentations when I was incredibly scared of public speaking, jobs dealing with the public all the time so I’d have to come out of my shy student shell.

Now excuse me while I go and fill up my Amazon wishlist with some of the recommended reading…
